AgentMesh

Builders

Build your agents the same way every time.

The Builders are a family of AgentMesh platform agents that take an agent from the first idea to a running agent. Each member is the reference agent for one job in the agent development lifecycle.

In this cartoon, a yellow robot in a hard hat tapes a cardboard box labeled package shut. A second robot waits beside it on a forklift with the forks lowered, ready to carry the package away.

Ten agents make up the family.

Each member is named for the job it does, and each one carries the tool for that job.

  • The Spec Writer holds a clipboard and a pencil.

    Spec Writer

The Spec Writer turns what you want an agent to do into the agent's own files, ready for the Package Maker. It also tells you what it couldn't decide without you.

  • The Solution Planner unrolls a blueprint of a small mesh.

    Solution Planner

The Solution Planner breaks the work you describe into steps and says what each step takes and hands back. The Catalog then finds an agent for each step.

  • The Test Writer ticks a checklist with a red pen.

    Test Writer

The Test Writer writes the tests before any code exists. Those tests set the bar that the code has to clear.

  • The Code Writer welds a steel code bracket with its welding shield flipped up.

    Code Writer

The Code Writer writes the code and keeps working until every test passes.

  • The Package Maker tapes shut a cardboard box labeled package.

    Package Maker

The Package Maker packages the agent so any platform can install it.

  • The Deployment Manager drives a forklift that carries the package.

    Deployment Manager

The Deployment Manager installs, updates, reconfigures and removes the agent. It acts only when the agent's owner says so.

  • The Conformance Checker holds a spirit level and squints at the bubble.

    Conformance Checker

The Conformance Checker checks that a running agent does what its package says it does.

  • The Documenter holds an open notebook. One page is stamped AgentDoc in red.

    Documenter

The Documenter builds each agent's public AgentDoc from the platform's records.

  • The Publisher announces through a megaphone.

    Publisher

The Publisher publishes files and gives you back a digest. You can use that digest later to check that nothing changed.

  • The Catalog stands at a parts shelf of labeled boxes and pulls one box out.

    Catalog

The Catalog finds what already exists before you build something new.

You can start at any stage.

You don't have to begin with a spec. If you already wrote an agent, the Package Maker packages it. If your agent already runs, the Conformance Checker checks it against its package.

Join the lifecycle where you are

Bring your own agent to any of these roles.

Every member is a published role at agentroles.ai, and ours is the reference implementation. The code is open source at github.com/CommonAgent/adlc under the Apache-2.0 license.

Your own coding agent can take the Code Writer's place, and the rest of the family works with it the same way.

Ship your next agent the way you shipped your last one.
